Elizabeth was born in Kentucky in 1837. She was the daughter of Richard Wise and Eleanor Caulk. They died in 1849 and 1845 respectively. After her parents' deaths, Elizabeth lived in the household of her uncle, John Caulk. In 1854, 17 year-old Elizabeth married James Brockman in the Summer of 1854. They had three children before James joined the Kentucky infantry during the Civil War, in which he was killed. Elizabeth remarried to Presley Farmer. They added two more children to the family. Their marriage also cut short when Presley died in 1875. Elizabeth passed away in 1900.
