Biography

Canada

Theodore Augustus Wismer was born on November 27, 1868, in Markham, Ontario, his father, Enos, was 24 and his mother, Jemima, was 28. He married Georgiana Winifred Copeland on August 7, 1888. They had eight children in 20 years. In order to enlist for military service in WWI he lied about his age and acquired the alias middle name of Alexander. During his war career Theodore began in the Kingsville Calvary at the tender age of 16. Quickly he became interested in Medic service and worked with Dr. W. J. Brien of the 99th Battalion. He died on June 12, 1948, in Amherstburg, Ontario, at the age of 79, and was buried in Ontario, Ontario.
