From report sent to me by Ralph Withers: "When John Weathers died has not been positively established but the place would appear to have been Floyd County, GA, where he appeared on the 1850 Census, age 64."

Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on GEDmatch consisting of Karen Weathers, Philip Weathers and Shelly Weathers who share the same 7.3cM segment on chromosome 5. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are John Withers and Judith Foreman, the 4th great grandparents of Shelly, the 5th great grandparents of Karen, and the 6th great grandparents of Philip. Karen and Shelly are 4th cousins once removed; Philip and Shelly are 5th cousins twice removed; and Karen and Philip are 6th cousins once removed.
