Jane E. Withey was born in Connecticut, daughter of James S. and Huldah (Niles) WIthey, on March 14, 1828.
She married Alpha Ezekiel Davis on October 6, 1852 at Dayville, Connecticut. Alpha was born in St. Lawrence Co., New York, son of Solomon and Fanny (Grandy) Davis.
Together the couple traveled to Moline, Illinois where their only child James was born.
Jane died July 17, 1855 in Illinois, and Alpha returned to the WIthey family in Connecticut, with his young son, after Jane's death. She is buried in the family plot, at Old Trinity Church Cemetery, Brooklyn, Connecticut.
He later married Jane's sister Lucy Frances 'Frank' Withey.
