Carol, thank you for your kind words about my 4th great-grandfather's profile. I did work on it for quite awhile! I gathered information for a couple of years, then compiled it with MS Word, then learned how to insert photos here at WikiTree. I also had to learn/experiment to get the table set up correctly, which was quite a challenge. The rest was just playing with the formatting. I used the blockquote html tag to format some of the paragraphs, which is not recommended, but I made a judgement call.
Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! Now it's time to pick a project that best fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on. Look at the list of Projects to see if one fits your interests. You might like our Canadian History Project, or Russian Roots Project.
Once you find a project that interests you, visit their project page for more information and to find out how to join. You can also use the Following link to add the project tag to your profile, so you'll be kept up to date on any activity for that project.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
Hi Carol. That census you linked to where David was listed under his father Peter is the source. So since his name and information is on it, it is a perfectly good source for David as well as Peter and the other family members.
You could also lead up to it in the narrative. Something like David was born around 1800 as is stated in the 1820 England and Wales Census. Then you would tack the reference to the end of the sentence to create the in-line citation.
You realize there are many many Wood families and not all are related.
My husband is a Wood and his family is English/Irish in background... but his father did move to PA at a later marriage and he has a half-brother who is mennonite
You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. Thank you for volunteering, and I wish you luck in connecting to your Russian and Mennonite kin on our tree!
Have fun and ask for help if you need it. WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.
If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
Wikitree is one BIG world-wide family tree that is freely accessible to everyone. Our goal is to have one profile per person which means we all work together as a BIG friendly and polite collaborative team!
If you are interested in sharing your research and want to collaborate to add your family, please fill out the TAGS on your profile page and click SAVE TAG(s) AND VOLUNTEER.

Question of the week: Have you found any unusual occupations in your family tree?
See you in the branches
