Earnest was born in 1887 in Rock Port, Atchison County, Missouri, to Joseph Henry Wolf and Cyntha Lauretta Sparks.
He registered for the WWI draft in 1917 in Atchison County, Missouri.[1] He was already married to Essie Martin by the time of the draft, and working as a farmer and stockman. He was described as tall and slender with dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. Earnest asked to be exempted due to having to support a wife and child, to work the farm, having relatives in Germany, and having kidney trouble.
In 1920, they were living in Polk, Atchison County, Missouri, and had a three year old daughter, Bernice.[2] By 1930, they had added a son, Harold, to the family.[3]
Ernest passed away in 1938. Burial was in the Linden Cemetery in Watson, Atchison County, Missouri.[4]
