Hello James,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Hello James,

I am confirming you as a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Welcome! Marshall

My interest in genealogy started with my mother's cousin. She was the family genealogist who specialized in her father's side of the family. She even went to Ireland to try to trace down her Irish ancestors. When she died, she passed her findings along to other family members, and eventually onto me.

My mother was a McGinnis; my father was a Wolfe; my stepfather was a Burgardt; and my maternal grandmother was a Ford.

My wife's mother was a Kline; her father was a Lent; and her maternal grandmother was a Plummer.

I am pleased to have found WikiTree, inasmuch it is oriented much more toward helping people personally, as compared to other genealogical sites.

I totally agree with the mission and the nine simple rules. I have already experienced positive and helpful interactions here.
