Biography

Peter was born about 1740.

In 1790, Peter was living in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. [1]

In 1800, "Peter Woolf" was living in Bethel township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He was living next door to his son "Jacob Woolf" who had a notation of "P Son", which may imply that he is Peter's son. [2]

On 27 Oct. 1803, Peter Wolf drew up his last will and testament. Peter was living in Pitt Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He referenced a land sale in Muskingum County, Ohio for 1000 acres. He named his son Christian in his will. [3]

In the name of God Amen. I Peter Wolfe Senior of Pitt Township All-
egheny County and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania being far advanced 
in age but of sound memory and understanding Blessed Be God, And consid-
ering the uncertainty of this transitory life,and that I am in the decline
 of my Earthly existence the perfect in health, by the course of nature My Day
n must not be of long duration. I do therefore make this my last will and
Testament in Manner and form following. it is my wish, and I do here

 :by request that if the dissolution of my body should take place before there  i:s full payment made of the installments and sums of money that I 

owe on the purchase I made of one thousand acres of land that Lays
In the Muskinggons Settlement Bought from  Heckenwelder of that place
Which are divided into three payments, payable to Wit Two hundred and 
Thirty five Dollars on or about the first of this Instant part (or October 1st 
1803) which payment may and in all probability is now paid by my son
Christian who Revived the amount of said payment from me two hun-
dred thirty five dollars the amount of second payment that will become
Due in October Eighteen hundred and four, and the third and last payment of
The same amount of the two foregoing payments will become due in the 
Month of October 1805 which several payments or sums of money are on
Interest and it is my wish and request sahel be paid by my Executors he-
reafter mentioned.  Out of the sums of money that will become due to

 :Me by payments that are to be made on account of the sale of my es-

Tate that I held in Dauphine County sold to Albert Dlingfelter, and 
Madenus Thalberne which payments I authorize my Executors to recei-
ve before they all become  due and empower them to allow a Reasonable
Discount If payment can  be obtained, and found Necessary and requ-
Isite to Receive to pay of the installments or sums of money that I owe
On the Land above Described and that will become due as herein be-
Fore stated and it is my will and desire that such property Landed
Or personal that I leave or my  have at the time of my decease shall be Equa-
Lly divided among my five Children, or the Heirs of such Chilldren or Ch-
Ild of mine that might dye before my Decease shall have and be entitle
Ed to a fifth part of my said property which fifth part is to be equally 
Divided among them, and if in Case my decease should take place before
Full payment is made of the installments that I owe on the purchase
I made of the one thousand acres of Land at Muskiggun it is not:
My will taht a division should take place of my property among my
Children. Viz.  my sons Jacob, Peter, Christian, and my Daughters Cather

rine and Elizabeth. Without  they appropriate such parts as may be wa-

reted of the money I may have or may become due to me to pay and disch-

The purchase above stated. And I do request and desire that if an
Equal division can not be made of the land that I hold as mentio-
ned that is if an Equal quantity of Land Cannot be made that each
Shall have in the division in Value alike, such of my Children as may
Receive the best quality of Land in their part of the Devision shall pay
A sum adequate to make up the deficiency of such parts of the Devision
Of Land that my fall into the hands of such of my children that
Are to make a choice after my son Christian. Who I wish to have

that part of the land that takes up or includes the mill seat, which
Together with as much land he is to have as will be equal in value to
such parts of the Devision of Land that is to come to the rest of my four
children. After the devisitions of the Land is made Equally in quantity
among my four children, that is of such part that remains after my
son Christians part is taken off four discreet and respectable Neighbors
or Persons that hold Land in the Neighborhood are to be made a
Choice of by my Children, who are to value and appraise each of the
said Divisions and such of my children that are to hold the division
that are Superior in quality shall pay a certain sum that may be awa-
rded to be over and above the valuation of such divisions of Land,
That are to be held by any of the rest of my Children. Which sums that
will be allowed as aforesaid or appertained shall be paid by such of my
Children that are to hold the best quality of my Land to Such that may
hold the devision or part of the Land that are inferior or not so good
in quality And I do herby nominate Constitute and appoint my
son Christian Executor of this my last will and Testament In Witne-
ss where of I have herunto set my hand and seal this Twenty sev-
enth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hun-
dred and three.

for the said County personally came John Thome and Jacob kelker the two
subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing will. And the being duly Sworn:
according to Law, Deposeth and Saith that they did see Peter Wolf the Te-
stator above named, Sign Seal and deliver the forgoing instrument
of writing as for his last will and Testament. That they did hear him publishedlish. :Pronounce and declare the same as Such, and that he was of sound
mind and memory at the time of so doing to the best of their Knowle-
dege. Witnesses my Hand this 14th day of October A.D. 1805
