Biography

Friedrich Wolff has German Roots.

Lorenz Wolff appears to have remained in Maryland after his parents and younger siblings moved to North Carolina, but came there himself in 1777.

He first married a woman named Hester, surname and date of marriage unknown, and in 1808 married Maria Barbara Huffman.

Surry Co. Heritage[1] vol. 1 p. 582 states that in his will he refers to a "person who goes by the name of Daniel Wolff and is the son of my first wife Hester", suggesting that Daniel was actually a stepson or possibly a natural son but estranged. Daniel was referred to in Moravian records as son of Lorenz, and is the ancestor of the Wolff family of Bethania NC.

This article states that he is buried at Nazareth Lutheran but that his marker has disappeared.
