Thomas T. Womack was born about 1819 in Warren County, Tennessee. He was the son of William Womack and Didama Webb. He passed away about 1856 probably in Shelby County, Illinois.
About 1835 Thomas, with his parents William and Didama Womack, moved to Shelby County, Illinois. Most of his siblings stayed in Illinois in Shelby or Moultrie (formed from parts of Macon and Shelby in February 1843) Counties. Brother Abner Womack moved on to Missouri about 1875. Brother Nathan Womack migrated first to Reno County, Kansas before 1880 then on to Blaine County, Oklahoma by 1900.
Thomas and Elizabeth left Illinois for a few years. Daughters Hannah and Hester were born in Indiana in 1840 and 1844. They were back in Shelby County, Illinois by 1846 when son William was born.
Birth
No birth record has been found for Thomas. Only one census record, 1850 Federal, has been found for him. On that census he is listed as age 31, born 1819 in Tennessee.
Date of marriage is based on birth of first child, Hannah D. Womack, in March 1840.
Death
No death record or burial site has been found. Death date is based on reference in Descendants of Thomas and Louvisa Rice Womack[1] and the fact that he has not been located in any records after the 1850 census.
Thomas (listed as Townsend) and wife, Elizabeth, are farming with no land value but personal property valued at $300. In their household are children Hannah, Hester and William. Also living with them are Lucy Womack, Thomas' younger sister, and Peter Harmon, age 71, probably Elizabeth's father.[3]
Neither Thomas nor Elizabeth has been found after 1850 census.
