Charles was born in 1810, the son of John Wombwell and Honor King. 
On the 20 May 1833, Charles Wombwell married Susan Reid at St. Mary the Virgin, Arkesden, Essex.
At the time of the England and Wales Census, 1851, the Wombwell family were living at Lower Green, Langley, Essex, England. The family members present were:
