Capt Christopher Guess "Kit" Wood, b 1819 in Indiana, came to Texas in about 1839; m Mary Jane Gholson, dau of Dr Jacob Johnston Gholson, who came to Texas in 1829 or 1830, and fought in Sam Houston's militia
