Biography

Anna was born in 1742, daughter of William Wood and Anna Collins [1] [2] [3]

On Feb 14, 1762 Anna married Isaiah Horton (1736-aft.1827) in Glocester, Rhode Island. [4]

  • Data conflicts introduced by Family Search reference vs original posting 1. DOB (1742 vs 1741) , First Name (Anna vs Ann).
  • Cautionary Note: "THOMAS HORTON OF MILTON & REHOBOTH MASSACHUSETTS by Margaret Jenks Vol II pg 634 shows that a correction should be made on Isaiah HORTON's wife.
  • Ebenezer CLEAVES, weaver, of Beverly, in his will of 3 April 1755 names all his children, living and dead and his grandchildren. From this will, it is clear that his daughter Anna had died without issue. (Essex Co. Probate).3 ...This leaves us with the conclusion that Isaiah did marry 14 Feb. 1762 Glocester, RI, ANNE WOOD, b. 16 Feb. 1742 Glocester; dau. of William and Anna (Collins) Wood of Warwick and Glocester, RI. Ann's brother John Wood is also listed in the 1770 Sackville census. The following deeds make it appear that they left for NS about the summer of 1763. ..." [5]
