Biography

Matilda Wood, daughter of William Wood and his wife, Hannah Revell, was born on the 25 Mar 1850 at Bradwell-next-the-Sea in Essex. She was baptised there on the 26th of May. ^[1]

On 31 October 1874 at Bradwell she married Alfred Chapman son of Edmund Chapman ^[2] and his wife, Mary Ann Bridge. Alfred was an agricultural labourer like her father who was living with them in 1881. ^[3] Ten years later they were still having babies ^[4] and by 1901 Alfred's 90 year old mother was living with them. ^[5]

Matilda was with her mother-in-law, Mary Ann, when she died on 7 March 1907 aged 97, and registered the death on the 8th. ^[6]

Matilda died in 1920. ^[7]
