John Wood Jnr. was born on 26 Oct 1833 in Ruardean, Gloucestershire, England, son of John Wood Snr. (1811 - 1895) and Amelia Mary Ann (Crook) Wood (~1809 - 1889).

He arrived in SA as a child on 1837-12-04 aboard Lady Emma from London[1]

John married Elizabeth Lyne (1834 - 1916) on 23 Sep 1852 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Their children were:

  3. Emily (Wood) Williams (1857 - 1940)
