Eli Wood was born in Wethersfield, Hartford Co. CT in 1753.
Eli was in the MA Militia at the start of the Revolutionary War. Although I have lost the reference, he may have been at, "The Battle of Bunker Hill."
He enlisted late in 1776 and served until late 1779
After the war he married Aseneth Bragg in Brookfield, MA in 1781
In that same "lost" reference, his Col., Ebenezer Leonard is mentioned and so he named one of his sons Leonard.
One of Leonard's grandsons was Gen. Leonard Wood ( Fort Leonard Wood)
He passed away in Brookfield, Worcester Co. MA in 1821. [1]
