Emily's mother passed away in 1857, and her father Charles Wood married Mary Matilda Hagell in 1858.
In 1861 Emily Wood (age 9, Scholar) lived at Charles Street in Islington, Middlesex with her father Charles (48, Cab Driver), stepmother Mary M (32), and four siblings: Harriet (14, House Maid), Charles (12, Errand Boy), Sarah F (11, Scholar), and Mary (1).[1]
Emily Wood married Samuel George Overy on 3 Aug 1869 in Surrey. The marriage was registered in Camberwell, London in the third quarter of the year.[2]

Emily and her family emigrated to Australia between 1881 and 1885 (son Albert's birth was registered in England in late 1881, and daughter Minnie's birth was registered in New South Wales, Australia in 1885).
Emily's husband Samuel G Overy passed away in 1920.
