Biography

Martin was born about 1790 in Georgia. ^[1]

On May 14th, 1850, Martin purchased 520 acres in Section 25 of Township 21, Range 9 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana from Marshall Martin for $1,100. T. A. Glass and Frederick Grounds witnessed the transaction. ^[2]

On 17 September 1850 Georgia born Martin Wood, aged 60, a Planter who valued his property at $3,800 lived at house 223, Township 22 Ward 3, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana with North Carolina born Finfrede (Winifred?) Wood aged 61 and Virginia born Nancy Doles, aged 30. ^[3]
