Biography

Abbigail was born about 1700. When she married William in 1730 she was a widow.

She bore three children to Aquilla Wood and after his death she married William Gaulton. They had two children, William and Mary Gaulton.

It seems that at some time following the death of her second husband William, in 1743, she and daughter Mary went to live in Audley which is where her son William and wife Ann raised a family from 1752 onwards. William took a job in Dorset in 1761 so perhaps Abbigail helped Ann look after the children. Ann died at the age of 43 and Abigail died ten years later.
