Biography

The marriage intentions of Priscilla Wood to Phineas Davis were published at Upton, Massachusetts on July 7, 1735. [1][2]

Her husband Phineas died by February 18, 1762/3, when widow Priscilla posted bond to administer the estate of her husband Phineas Davis, deceased, blacksmith of Mendon, Massachusetts. [3]

On February 18, 1762/3, widow Priscilla Davis, Samuel Wood and Phineas Davis posted bond in the amount of L50, for administration of her husband Phineas Davis', blacksmith, late of Mendon, estate, which was granted. [3]

On February 22, 1762/3, the court appointed a committee to appraise the estate of Phineas Davis, blacksmith of Mendon, deceased. On March 1, 1762/3, his widow Priscilla Davis appeared in court and confirmed the estate inventory was accurate to her knowledge. The estate was valued at L14 13s 3d. [3]

On November 10, 1762, John Abbe provided a receipt, acknowledging payment of L1 13s 11d from Samuel Wood, for the funeral expenses of the husband of Mrs. Priscilla Davis. [3]

On May 9, 1763, the judge ordered that after funeral expenses were paid, any estate balance should go to the widow for her housekeeping. [3]
