William's birth date is approximate, based on his marriage to Mary Fielder on 12 April 1759. If William was at least 21 in 1759 then he was born about 1738 or before. The Douglas Register records the birth of two children for William Woodhall and Mary Fielder, Jacob in 1759 and Michal in 1762. William did not receive any land from his father. We know William's sons, Jacob and Michael, both migrated to Greene County, Georgia. We can speculate William moved south into the Carolinas and on into Georgia with his sons. Beyond this we have no other documents and the paper trail ends. Connection to the family of John Woodall has been determined from DNA results for his descendants.
In order to avoid confusion researchers should remember there were three men named William Woodall living in Goochland County, Virginia in the 1760's. William who married Mary Fielder, William Woodall who married Marianne Hancock and William Woodall whose wife was named Mary Ann. William Woodall (wife Mary Ann) was the brother of John Woodall Jr and uncle of William Woodall who married Mary Fielder.
