Sally Woodhal (sic Sally Woodall) was born 24 March 1756 and christened 28 August 1756 at St James Northam Parish in Goochland County, Virginia a daughter of Sampson Woodhal (sic Woodall) and Sarah Steel. [1]
She married Samuel Walter on 6 December 1784 in Charlotte County, Virginia. [2][3]Some researchers on reading the old handwriting have interpreted the surname of the groom as "Walker" but most documents appear to use the name Walter or Walters.
Presuming she did marry Samuel Walter she may have died in Kentucky. Samuel Walters was in the 1799 tax list for Jessamine County, Kentucky. There was a Samuel Walter who left a will in Jessamine County, Kentucky in 1805. His will [1] mentions a wife Sarah. [4] Among the children mentioned in Samuel Walters will is a son SAMPSON Walters. This looks like a definite link to Sarah Woodall and her father Sampson Woodall.
Some of this Walters family later moved to Sullivan County, Indiana.
