Hiram P Woodard Hiram P. Woodard was born in Stuben County, Indiana, to Alson and Betsy Woodard on May 16, 1872 and passed away on December 10, 1940 at the age of 68 years six months, and 26 days. On September 23, 1896 he was united in marriage to Rose Belle Bechtol. To this union six children were born; Rolland, Anna, Hiram, Howard, Roy and Pearl. The last mentioned preceded him in death February 15, 1931. He had been engaged in drainage contract work all of his life and had made his home in Bankers during the past 30 years. He was a member of the Bankers Baptist church and the Bankers Grange. Survivors are the following brothers and sisters J. B. Woodard of Hillsdale, Miles Woodard of Hillsdale, Hume Woodard of Hillsdale, and Milias De Le Gail of Pueblo, Colorado, George, Orpha and Cora preceded him in death. There are also eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on December 13, 1940 from the Bankers Baptist church with the Rev. Lester W. Boyd officiating Hillsdale Daily News, 11 Dec 1940
