Clem Woodard Tavares, Fla -- Clem A Woodard, 83, of Tavares, died Saturday (March 6, 1993) in Eustis, Fla following a short illness. Born Sept. 10, 1909, in Hillsdale, to Miles (Sam) and flora Giaugue Woodard, he was a 1927 graduate of Hillsdale High School. Having received his master's degree in electrical engineering in 1933 from Michigan State University, he was an engineer from 1934-1956 at Richard Brothers Division Plant #3 Allied Products Corporation, Hillsdale, and from 1964-1966 in Nashua, N.H. Mr Woodard was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eustis; member of Hillsdale City Council from 1938-1944; mayor of Hillsdale from 1944-1946, served the Hillsdale School board from 1947-1955, with the last seven years as chairman; member of the Kiwanis serving on the board of directors; member of the Knights of Pythias; was Master Mason in 1939 of Hillsdale Lodge #32; and a life member of all York Rite Bodies He married the former Ruth Butter, Nov. 14, 1932. She survives as do two daughters, ---- ; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Mable) Champion, Hillsdale; one brother George of Jonesville; and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death were four sisters and one brother. At Mr. Woodard's request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in Bankers Cemetery.
