John Wooden and Mary Roe married on 31 May 1875 in Burford. John was a 23 year old farmer, born and living in Burford. Mary was 16 years old, also born and living in Burford. Her father was shown as William Roe and mother deceased. [3]

There is a discrepancy in his birth year. His death registration clearly indicates 1851 and his Find-a-Grave indicated 1850. At this time, there is no picture of the grave stone on his memorial to reference.
