Biography

Ada Ellen Woodham (sometimes just listed as Ellen) was born in 1875 at Harlington, Hayes, Middlesex, England. She was the daughter of William Woodham and Mary Ann Portsmouth.^[1]

In the 1881 census, Ellen Woodham was age 5 living at Prospect Place, Upton Cum Chalvey, Buckinghamshire with her father William Woodham (33), mother Mary Ann Woodham (31), siblings Elizabeth Woodham (12), Jane Woodham (10), Sarah Woodham (9), George Woodham (4), David Woodham (2), Fred Woodham (1).^[2]

In the 1891 census, Ellen Woodham was age 15 living at St Aldates Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire as a servant in the household of Charles Head.^[3] She also appears as a servant in the same family in another entry at Blue Bear Street, Oxford.^[4]

Ada had a daughter Mary Elizabeth Woodham (b. 1898) when she was living at Wandsworth, London.

Thomas Pinfold married Ada Ellen Woodham on 3 Mar 1900 at Slough, Buckinghamshire.^[5] They had seven known children together: Edith Alice Pinfold (b. 1901), Thomas Pinfold (b. 1902), Ada Jane Pinfold (b. 1905), Phoebe Pinfold (b. 1907), William John Pinfold (1909–1911), Florence May Pinfold (b. 1912), Richard George Pinfold (b. 1914).

In the 1901 census Ada E Pinfold was age 25 living at Slough, Buckinghamshire with her husband Thomas Pinfold (23), daughters M E W Pinfold (2), E Mary Pinfold (0).^[6]

In the 1911 census Ellen Pinfold was age 34 living at Slough, Buckinghamshire with her husband Thomas Pinfold (33), daughters Mary Pinfold (12), Edith Pinfold (10), Ada Pinfold (6), Phoebe Pinfold (4), son Thomas Pinfold (9). Also a lodger Osman Mould (27).^[7]

Ada Ellen Pinfold of 72 Stoke Gardens, Slough died on 13 Mar 1935 age 59. She was buried at St Mary, Slough.^[8][9][10]
