Catharine "Catie" Brashears was said to be born on the banks of the Potomac in Virginia, in 1797/98 and died in Wilkes Co, North Carolina, in 1900/01.The name was corrupted to "Beshears" in her children, all three of whom seem to have been illegitimate.The Wilkes Co North Carolina Court Minutes of 4 Feb 1818 identify the father of the oldest, Aaron: "Jaamon Woody, Bastardy Bond -- in body of Catherine Beshears. Jonathan Woody, security."
