She was married 28 August 1849 in Montgomery County, Tennessee to Asahel Chapel.[4]
In the 1850 U.S. Census, Martha A. Chapel was recorded as 17-years old living in Hopkins County, Kentucky with husband Asa Chapel, age 21. In addition, Elijah Smith lived with them.[1]
She passed away 10 May 1914 in Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Kentucky and was buried at Rosedale Cemetery, Dawson Springs, Hopkins County, Kentucky.[3][2]
