Lenora Gertrude Oliver passed away peacefully Sunday night, January 27, 2013 at Jackson Madison County Hospital.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 31st from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Shelton Funeral home in Trenton, TN. Funeral services to follow at 2 p.m., at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Mason Hall, TN.
Mrs. Oliver was born on October 9, 1926 in Decatur County, TN to the late Esra B. and Nellie Wood. She was married to her 1st husband, SGT Parker Lee Baker, ABN Infantry. Sgt Baker was killed serving our country in 1950. Mrs. Oliver was married for 53 years to her 2nd husband, Lloyd R. (Sonny) Oliver, who also preceded her in death in 2005.
She is survived by 4 sons, Alfred Lee Baker (Pat) of Memphis, TN, Dwight Parker Baker (Patsy) of Coxville, TN, Richard Lloyd Oliver (Pam) of Medina, TN, Joseph Lynn Oliver of Trenton, TN; two sisters, Mary Lou Deming Miller of Henderson, TN and Mirtle Ross (Damon) of Rutherford, TN; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, who all meant so much to her.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ted E. Baker (1950-1987) and two sisters, Willie Cross of Kenton, TN and Ola Mae Bawcum of Rutherford, TN.
