Biography

Arthur was born on 19 July 1876 in District of Columbia, United States. He was the son of Elon Alonzo Woodward and Josephine Taylor (Contnor) Woodward.[1]

In the 1900 census Arthur (age 22), Stamp Collector, was the single grand son (grandson) of Elizabeth Cortner in Washington, Washington, District of Columbia.[2]


In the 1880 census Arthur (age 3) was living in Laurel, Prince George's, Maryland, United States.[3]


On 20 December 1907 Arthur (age 31) was employed as a Episcopal Postulant in , Arkansas, United States.[4]

In the 1910 census Arthur (age 33) was living in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas, United States. He was employed as a Episcopal Minister.[5]

When Arthur was 34 he married Bessie Dufour Rous on 22 September 1910 in Lake Providence, East Carroll, Louisiana, United States.[6][7][8]

Draft Registration: 12 September 1918 in Van Buren, Crawford, Arkansas, United States.[9]

In the 1920 census Arthur (age 43), Minister, was the married head of household in Van Buren, Crawford, Arkansas.[10]


On 1 April 1930 Arthur (age 53) was living in Palmyra, Marion, Missouri, United States.[11]

In the 1940 census Arthur (age 63) was living in Palmyra, Marion, Missouri, United States.[12]

On 17 December 1957 Arthur (age 81) was living in Palmyra, Marion, Missouri, United States.[13]

Arthur died at the age of about 82 in 1959 in Palmyra, Marion, Missouri, United States.[13]
