Biography
Josiah was born about 1811. Josiah Woodward ... He passed away about 1909.[1]
In his daughter Nancy Amanda's pension application, he stated that he was 90 years old, that he resided at Fredonia, Mason Co., TX, that he knew Marion Lusk (her husband) from 1856 to tht time of his death. That he first knew him in Coffee Co., TN. That he knew Marion Lusk served in the Confederate Army in Company A. Bradfords Reg.. That he thought he enlisted in 1863 in Williamson Co., TX and that he served from the time of enlistment until the close of the War. When asked if she was capable of supportin herself-he answered " I do not know. Have not seen her in about 15 years." -- He went on in cross interrogation to state that Nancy Amanda stayed at his house during her husband's service in the Army and that he knew of no other man by that name. And he knew that he did not desert.
