Sarah Woodward was born on 29 June 1791 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.[1] Her parents were John Woodward and Rebecca Taman.
Sarah and John Ward (both of the parish) married on 25 December 1809 in Witherley, Leicestershire.[2] The witnesses were William Woodward and William Price. The latter was the parish clerk. Sarah and John had the following children:
Mary Ward was born in about 1812 in Coleshill, Warwickshire.[3]
John Ward was born in about 1814 in Coleshill.[4] He was a millwright like his father and married Ann Hooper.
Ann Ward was baptised on 23 February 1817 in Coleshill.[5]
Charles Ward was baptised on 4 July 1819 in Coleshill.[6]
Maria Ward was baptised on 3 February 1822 in Coleshill.[7]
Emma Ward was baptised on 20 October 1823 in Coleshill.[8]
Sarah Ward was baptised on 1 January 1826 in Coleshill.[9]
William Ward was baptised on 11 March 1828 in Coleshill.[10]
Rebecca Ward was baptised on 3 March 1830 in Coleshill.[11]
Eliza Ward was born 10 December 1836 on Ashted Row in the Aston area of Birmingham, Warwickshire. She was baptised on 11 January 1837 at the Ebenezer Chapel on Steelhouse Lane, a non-conformist chapel.[12]
Sarah's husband, John, was buried on 27 July 1859 at St. Peter and St. Paul in Aston, of New John Street, age 72.[13] Sarah was still living on the same street on the 1861 census, with her married daughter Emma (Ward) Adcock.
