Biography

Chauncey was born in 1844.

He first married Sarah Elizabeth Moffitt of Sandgate on September 16, 1864. They became the parents of children:

William "Willie" Fayette Woodard 1865–1948

Warren Asaph Woodard 1867–1950

Herbert Aseph Woodard 1871–1930

Addie Woodard 1873–

Robert "Robbie" Anson Woodard 1875–1954

Charles Wesley Woodard 1878–1925

Saran died in 1900 leaving Chauncey with the children to raise. In the early years of the century, raising children was not an easy job for a man, so he might have been looking around for a wife to help with the children

He married Phebe Price on November 15, 1903 when he was 59 years of age. It was a second marriage for him ^[1].

It was a sad, sad day when his namesake died in 1908 at the age of four from meningitis ^[2].

Chauncey passed away in 1924 ^[3].
