Biography

Peter was born in 1717. He passed away in 1762. His wife was named Margrett but we do not know her birth name. They had a daughter also named Margrett, who was born on the 15th of January, 1737 at 3pm on a saturday[1]. but we do not know her birth name.

Peter Woodward was a prominent figure in colonial Virginia during the 18th century. He was born in 1717 in Newport Parish, Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and was the son of a wealthy planter and politician.

Woodward attended the College of William and Mary, where he studied law and became a lawyer. He then served as a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses from 1748 to 1755 and again from 1758 to 1761.

During the French and Indian War, Woodward served as a colonel in the Virginia militia and fought in several battles. He also served as a delegate to the Virginia Convention of 1776, which declared Virginia's independence from Great Britain.

Woodward was a prominent supporter of the American Revolution and served in various capacities throughout the conflict. He was a member of the Virginia Committee of Safety, which was responsible for organizing the state's military and civil defense during the war. He also served on the Virginia Board of War, which oversaw the state's military operations.

After the war, Woodward continued his public service and was appointed to several positions by Virginia's new government. He served as a judge on the Virginia General Court, as well as on the Virginia Court of Appeals.

Woodward died in 1785, leaving behind a legacy as a prominent lawyer, politician, and military leader in colonial Virginia.
