Wade Hampton Woodworth was a prominent farmer in Evansville, Wisconsin who died Sunday, May 30, 1965 at the Stoughton Community Hospital, Janesville, Wisconsin, where he had been a patient for three weeks. He was 84. Wade was born on a farm near Sparta, Wisconsin on December 21, 1880 to Nelson Martin and Ida (Moseley) Woodworth. He attended Sparta schools as a child. In 1902 went to Beloit to work for Fairbanks, Morse and Co. He began farming near Evansville in 1904 and purchased a farm east of Evansville in 1911, residing there until 1947 when he and his wife (the former Mae Lazetta Thomas) retired from farming and moved to Evansville Wisconsin. He and his wife lived in Caravilla Wisconsin for the last six months of his life. Wade and Mae were married October 14, 1906; they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 1964. Wade was a member of Evansville Methodist Church, a charter member of Waucoma Grange, a former director of Production Credit Association, a member of the Goodwill Community Club and treasurer of Brown School district. He was survived by his wife and their four children: Mrs. Charles Severson (1907 - 1978) (born Carrol Leone Woodworth, Mr. Maurice Thomas Woodworth (1911 - 1995) , Mrs. Lloyd C. Hanson (1917 - 1981)(born Wilva Mae Woodworth), and Howard Hampton Woodworth (1918 - 1980). He also was survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Nelson (born Bertha E. Woodworth) (1883 - 1947). Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Wisconsin.
