Charles Raymond Woodworth of Loomis, a graduate of Roseville High School, was graduated July 4 from Victorville Army Flying School as a bombardier and will now be commissioned a second lieutenent in the Army Air Force Reserves.

WOODWORTH, Charles R. Passed away in Carmichael on Thursday November 12, 2009. Beloved husband to Julie Woodworth. He is also greatly missed by his daughter Shelley Woodworth and sons Mike, John, Robert and David Woodworth. Also left behind to honor his memory are numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by sisters Alta Cassidy and Flora Eastman and brother Floyd Woodworth. A WWII veteran, Charles proudly served in the Air Force. He became a POW and was awarded a Purple Heart. An avid fan of sports car racing, Charles served tirelessly as a volunteer with the Sports Car Club of America for many years. Also amongst his interests was traveling especially to Maui where he loved the beach and the ocean. He also loved gardening particularly his tomatoes. Charles was an accountant for 37 years with Blue Diamond Almond Growers of Sacramento. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 1 PM at LIND BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 4221 Manzamta Avenue, Carmichael, (916) 482-8080. Remembrances may be made in his name to American Heart Association 1-800-242-8721 or Sac SPCA (916) 383-7387.
