Biography

Per the 1850 census record, her birth was in 1796 in Vermont.[1] However, her headstone indicates a death in 1858 at 64 years old, which would make her birth in 1794[2]

She married Almon Wheeler on 9 Nov 1813 in Plattsburgh, New York, USA[3]

In 1850, we find her and her daughter, Fidelia living with her son, William and wife.[1]

Disputed Parents

Find a Grave indicates, with no sources, that her parents are William Woodward and Lydia Danforth.[2] In attempting to secure sources to prove this, I did find the birth records of 3 daughters for those parents, all born in Massachusetts. So, we have a man born in Connecticut, and then started having a family in Massachusetts, where his wife is supposedly born. It is hard to believe that he then, moved everyone to Vermont, where Eliza was born.Lee-5956 15:24, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

The Genealogical and Encyclopedic History of the Wheeler Family in America; by A.G. Wheeler and The Genealogy of the Wheeler Family:Genealogy of Some of the Descendants of Thomas Wheeler give no indication of her parents.
