Biography
Walter Earnest (or Ernest) Woodyard was born in Guyan Township, Ohio on August 20, 1890[1]. He was the son of George Woodyard and Arvilla Williams.
At the time of the 1900 U.S. Census, George, Arvilla, Emma, Jesse, Walter, Bessie, and Stanley Woodyard were listed as living in Guyan Township[2].
Walter married Hazel Brumfield in Gallia County, Ohio on July 29, 1914[3]. At the time of their marriage, Walter's occupation was listed as "Farming".
At the time of the 1920 U.S. Census, Walter E, Hazel B, Magdeline B, and George E Woodyard were listed as living in Guyan Township[4]. At the time of the census, Walter's occupation was listed as "Farmer".
At the time of the 1930 U.S. Census, Walter E, Hazel, George T, Hollis M, and Hildred Woodyard were listed as living in Guyan Township[5].
At the time of the 1940 U.S. Census, Walter, Hazel, Hollis, Hildred, Junior, Gene, Joan, Harlow, and George Woodyard were listed as living in Guyan Township[6].
Walter died in Gallia County on April 19, 1953[7], and was buried in the Crown City Cemetery[8].
