Giuseppa Gagliardo is born in Corleone on 1 April 1857 and baptized the next day. She is the daughter of Antonino Gagliardo and Antonina Crapisi. Her godparents are Bernardo Catalinotto and Girolama Sanzone, a married couple.[1]
According to family lore, her father changed the surname Gagliardo to Woodyard. However, he died in Corleone in 1874.
Giuseppa Gagliardo, daughter of the late Antonino Gagliardo and the living Antonina Crapisi, marries Giovanni Lampo, son of the late Bernardo Lampo and the living Biagia Timpa, on 27 November 1875 in Corleone.[2]
In the 1900 federal census of Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, taken 29 June, John Lampo, born in December 1852, age 47, heads a household with his wife of 23 years (m. 1877), Josephine, born May 1855, age 45, and children Bessie, age 20, born August 1879, Benjamin, born May 1889, age 11, Antoinette, born October 1890, age 9, Antonio, born February 1893, age 7, and Angelo, born September 1896, age 3. John, his wife, and their oldest daughter were born in Italy, the next three children were born in Louisiana, and the youngest was born in Texas.[3]
Antonietta, called Lena, marries Leoluca "Luke" Perrino, of Corleone, in 1907 in Dallas. They move to Los Angeles by 1920.
In the 1920 federal census of Precinct #4, Brazos County, Texas, taken 16 January, these families appear together on Dellashane Cross? Road:
Luke Rezaffi, 65 (b. 1855), with his wife Mary, 55 (b. 1865), emigrated in 1884. Their children Lena, 17 (b. 1903), and Angelo, 14 (b. 1906), were born in TX. An employer on his home farm. His children are home farm laborers.
Joe Marino, 19 (b. 1901), and his wife Annie D., 19 (b. 1901) were both born in Texas. Home farmer working on his own account.
John Lampo, 70, with his wife Josephine, 62. They emigrated in 1887 and naturalized in 1900. Home farmer working on his own account.
Ben Lampo, 30 (b. 1890), and his wife Maggie, 27 (b. 1893). Ben was born in Louisiana. Maggie emigrated in 1903 and is naturalized. Home farmer working on his own account.
Cortemella Genuse (Cortimiglia Genusa), 57 (b. 1863), emigrated in 1904 with his wife Jenny, 48 (b. 1872), and children Joe, 21 (b. 1899), and Tony, 16 (b. 1904). Daughter Maggie, 12 (b. 1908), was born in Texas. Home farmer working on his own account.[4]
She was the mother of Bessie Lampo Patranella (1880 - 1913), Ben Lampo (1889 - 1977), Antonio Lampo (1893 - 1984), Angelo Lampo (1896 - 1905). Sam J Lampo (1900 - 1994).
She died 9 December 1945 at 12:30 a.m. in Bryan Hospital in Bryan, Texas. Her cause of death was contributed to acute myocarditis and old age. Her residence was listed as Bryan, Texas.
