Obituary: August 6, 1962 Evening Journal EARNEST A. WOODYARD, 68 of Route two Washington died Saturday, August 4,1962 at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. He became seriously ill in January. Funeral services will be held Wed. at 2 p.m. in the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mr. Woodyard was born July 11, 1894 in Canton, Illinois,. a son of Baldwin T. and Martha Rodgers Woodyard. He was reared in Burlington and married May 3, 1919 in St. Paul, Minn. to Mary M. Immoos. He was a retired farmer. Mrs. Woodyard died October 6, 1960. Survivors are a son, Floyd of Cherokee, three daughters, Mrs. Frieda Hesseltine of Washington, Mrs. Frances Russell of Burlington, Mrs. Fern Burns of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; his stepfather, Grover Smith of Canton Ill., two brothers, John and Ralph of Burlington and two sisters, Mrs. Lilah Johns and Mrs. Gertrude Wey, both of Hayward, Calif.
