John 'Charley' Woodyard was born in Carson, Washington Co., Alabama on 12 Mar 1868. He was the son of George William Woodyard and Sarah Bassett Bowling.[1][2] Charley never married and lived most of his life farming his father's land with his brother Mike Brew Woodyard and sister, Emma Virginia Woodyard (both of whom also remained single).[3][4]
According to FAG, Charley died on 18 Nov 1929 and was buried at the Gray-Woodyard Cemetery in Leroy, AL.[5]
