Biography

John was probably born in Virginia, as older sister Sarah and younger sister Elizabeth were also born in Virginia according to census records.

No definite record has been found for John other than his birth record in the family bible (filled in several years after his birth). A John Woolard of the right age born in Virginia is living in Wayne Township, Ohio in 1850, and had been in Clinton County since at least 1823 when he married his wife Ruth, possibly since 1820.^[1][2][3]
