Green Columbus Ward was born the 24th of August, 1843,[1] in Lumpkin county, Georgia. Green is the son of Edward Ward and Sarah Ann Thompson.
Green, age 6, appears in the 1850 Federal census Lumpkin county, Georgia in the household of his mother, Sarah Ward.[2]
Green, age 15, appears in the 1860 Federal census in White county, Georgia in the household of his step-father James Colley.[3]
Green served in the Confederate army during the Civil War as a Private in Co. B, 52 Regiment Georgia Infantry.[4]
Green married Emeline Holcombe on the 5th of September, 1867 in White county, Georgia.[5]
Green appears in the 1880 Federal census in Pickens county, Georgia.[6] Green's household appeared as follows:

Green married Viola Taunton on the 2nd of July, 1910 in Jefferson county, Alabama.[9]
Green died the 30th of May, 1915, in Jefferson county, Alabama. Green is buried in the Old Enon Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson county, Alabama.[10]
