Hudson Gazette May 13, 1893: HON. ROBT. WORDEN who d. at home of his son CHAUNCEY in Grand Rapids; his remains brought to Pittsford yesterday for interment. Had been ill a yr. Was member of the Legislature & Treas. of Hillsdale co. A prominent pioneer & a good Mason. Burial in Goodrich cemetery. May 12--CHAUNCEY WORDEN accompanied the remains of his father from Grand Rapids. b. in Goodrich cemetery in Pittsford-- the twp. where he wrestled with wilderness & subdued it to serve necessities of man--was a rugged type of man passing thru privat- ions of pioneer life within its borders, lived to see Hillsdale co. develop into rich & populous section & was several times honored by her people--twice elected Treas. of Co. & once representative in Legislature; a life long Democrat. MRS. WORDEN d. 11 yrs. ago. 1 son EDWIN is dead, but 4 sons & 1 dau. are living. When MR. WORDEN returned from Ark. he located at Onondaga, Mich. & from there moved to Owosso where his dau. MRS. ADELAIDE POST resided. For over a yr. he had been poorly & practically helpless. MRS. POST cared for him til her own health became impaired & he went to res. at home of his son CHAUNCEY at Grand Rapids, where he d., 84 yrs. old No tombstone or missing stone
