Biography

Catharine A. Worden was born June 22, 1828 in Gates, Saratoga County, New York.[1][2][3] Find a Grave indicates her father was Nathan P. Worden.

She married William C. Richardson on November 27, 1850 in LeRoy, New York[4] and relocated to Michigan four years later. They eventually settled (in 1863) in Wayland, Allegan County, Michigan where they owned their own home.[5][6]

William C. Richardson and Catharine A. Worden had at least four children:

Marion A. Richardson, 1852-1940
Fred W. Richardson, 1867-1904
Wallace W. Richardson, 1870-1930
Mrs. A.L. Hydorn

The full identity of their daughter has not yet been found but, according to Catharine's obituary, she lived in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Catharine A. Worden Richardson died on June 27, 1904 in Wayland, Allegan County, Michigan and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery[7][8][9]

Obituary

Catharine A. Worden was born in Gates township, New York, June 22, 1828. She united with the M.E. church at the age of eighteen years. She was married to Wm. C. Richardson at LeRoy, N.Y., Nov. 27, 1850. In 1854 the came to Michigan, and to Wayland in 1863, where she had resided continuously until the time of her death, which occurred Monday, June 27, 1904, at the age of 76 years and five days. She is survived by three children, M.A. and W.W. Richardson and Mrs. A.L. Hydorn, the latter of Scranton, Penn. He husband died Dec. 25, 1901, and her son passed away April 4, 1904.
The funeral was held from the residence Tuesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Eld. M.B. Rawson. Those present from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Richardson, Mrs. N.H. Salisbury and C.N. Tubbs of Grand Rapids; Mrs. H.A. Hydorn, Scranton, Pa.
