Robert Worden, 83, a lifelong resident of the Greenwood area, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Community Alliance Church, Withee.

Robert Worden was born on April 11, 1925, to Wesley and Neva Worden. He married Jean Berrett on June 13, 1946. They farmed near Greenwood until 1971. He also drove school bus for 31 years for the School District of Greenwood. He enjoyed spending time with his family and church family.

Survivors include his children, Taree (Colleen) Worden, Green Bay, Denise (Chuck) Lindner, Greenwood, and Scott (Ramona) Worden, Greenwood; four grandchildren, Tamee, Camee, Kelly, and Ben; four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Simon, Noelle, and Izaak; and a brother, Warren Worden, Menomonie, Mich.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wesley and Neva; his wife, Jean; and a brother, Ken Worden.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Community Alliance for mission projects.
