Source 5: Worden, Basil J. “Buck” JANESVILLE-Basil J. “Buck” Worden, age 84, of Hamilton Ave., died Sun. evening, May 9, 1993, at Memorial Community Hospital in Edgerton. He was bom Sept. 25,1908, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, to the late Burt and Ethel (Miller) Worden. In April, 1959 he married Patricia M. Moccero at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Janesville. He had been employed for many years as a welder and later in the maintenance department for General Motors, retiring in 1970. Buck was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War n, having served as a maintenance mechanic and being discharged after he was as a master sergeant. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He also was a member of the U.A.W. Local #95, the National Rifle Assoc., AARP, and had been a 37 year member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; 4 sons: Tom Worden of Radisson, WI, Patrick (Sharon) Worden of Plymouth, WI, Daniel (Pauline) Worden of Shopiere, and William (Kathy) Worden of Janesville; 2 daughters, Mikoleen (Barry) Ulsrude of Whitefish, MT, and Mary (Ed) Grant of Janesville; a sister, Norma (Mel) Brown of Platteville; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dale Worden and Wayne Worden; and a sister, Louise O’Donnell. Funeral services were held at 9:00 a.m. Wed., May 12, at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Fr. John Norder officiated. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Buck greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He trill be missed by his family and all of his friends.
