Source 3: Worden, Russell J. Jr. 70, of Crystal, died Wed. April 1st. Russ was a retired Sergeant Major in the US Army and served in both Korea and Viet Nam (Bronze Star recipient). He spent the majority of his 23 year Army career in the Finance Corps and ran finance and accounting for all of Europe at the peak. He also was an instructor at the Sergeants Major Academy. Russ was a very intelligent, organized and skilled individual. Earlier in life, he was proficient in many athletic endeavors (baseball, basketball, bowling, table tennis). Russ was also very accomplished at many card and word games. Russ spent his childhood growing up in Robbinsdale. Preceded in death by parents, Russell and Virginia Worden, brother, Robert and wife Sandra. Survived by sister, Virginia Larson; sons, David (Kay) of Plymouth, Scott (Kelly) of Oceanside CA; granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca. Russ was a loving husband, father and a doting grandfather. A private family interment will occur in the Spring. Memorials preferred to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
