William J. (Bill) Worden, age 63, of Clyde Twp, passed away on May 29th, 2012 in his home with his family by his side. He was born on January 19, 1949 in Port Huron. He married Joanne K. Truscott on April 16, 1983 in Port Huron. He is the son of the late Edgar and Alice Worden. Bill attended and graduated from Port Huron High School and St. Clair Community College. He served in the U.S Air Force. He was a Lieutenant with the St. Clair County Sheriff Department. His volunteer work included, Port Huron Little League baseball President for 10 years, he started the sponsorship signs at the little league park. He was the Worshipful Master of Port Huron Masonic Lodge, he also held various positions within the Masonic organizations. He often worked pancake breakfasts and was active with the Old News Boys. Bill was an avid golfer with his son, nephews, brother-in-law, and his friends. He enjoyed Michigan International Speedway NASCAR races with sons and the Thomas Crew, his favorite driver was #24 Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed the annual golf outing at Lance's in Battle Creek. Bill loved sitting on the front deck or just about any place with a cold Miller beer while making people laugh with his contagious humor. He loved anything that involved spending time with his family. His favorite TV shows consisted of Orange County Choppers and the Deadliest Catch. In 1983 William reunited and married his longtime friend, Joanne Truscott. The couple shared many happy years together as husband and wife. Bill was a loving husband, father, and friend. Bill is survived by his wife Joanne Worden, three daughters; Julie (Kevin) Hovis, Kim Martin, and Autumn Brennan, sons; William (Kim) Worden and David Martin, sister; Carol (Verl) Thomas, Sue (Robert) Easton, 14 grandchildren; Lara Bruno, Courtnee Worden, Haylee Hovis, Kevin Hovis, Laycee Hovis, Celia Martin, Gracie Martin, Ty Martin, William Worden, Cassie Worden, Larry Brennan, Jim Brennan, Charlee Bralich, Nash Bralich, great grandsons; Zane Bruno and Corey Worden, great granddaughter; Kaylee Hovis and his cat, Whitney. He is preceded in death by five brothers; Lee Worden, Ben Worden, Gerry Worden, Donald Worden, and Robert Worden. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 2nd in the Jowett Funeral Home – 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St., Port Huron. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 11:00 am until time of service. Pallbearers will be; Nick Deaner, David Martin, John Ignash, Clint Vincent, Charles Truscott, Billy Worden, Lance Thomas, and Randy Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Nash Bralich, Larry Brennan, Billy Worden III, Ty Martin, and Kevin Hovis. In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Diabetes Association, in honor of Bills granddaughter, Celia Rose Martin. St. Clair County Allied Veterans will conduct military honors.
