Notes: I believe it could be him as he was born around 1804. He was alive in the 1851 census age recorded as 47 yrs. When his wife Jane passes away in 1888 she is registered as a widower. Samuel would have died between 1851 & 1888

Headstone inscriptions collected from across 42 historic graveyards in the Borough of Ballymena. Online at The Braid Mid Antrim Museum

http://www.thebraid.com/genealogy.aspx > The Braid , Mid Antrim Museum

Note: The headstone inscription/transcription from The Braid, above has been a little confusing, as at first glance I thought it was Samuel Workman and his wife Jane Wilson, since putting together the family tree and looking at it further, I do think this is Samuel's parents who just happen to have the same Forenames "Samuel & Jane" and what has been transcribed as "Their daughter Sarah Campbell" is actually their grand daughter / or possibly reads "and his daughter".... As I haven't seen the headstone I can only guess it's condition and how hard it is to read/ transcribe from.

If or until I can find further evidence to prove or disprove otherwise I will, go with the following :

Jane Workman & Samuel Work Man are the parents of Samuel Workman, Sarah Campbell is their Grand daughter.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
